New Tax Slabs for FY 2083/84
The tax structure changed significantly this year. Here's what you need to know.
You pay no tax (or only 1% if not in SSF) on the first NPR 10,00,000 of income. Previously, this was NPR 5,00,000 for individuals.
The highest tax bracket dropped from 39% to 29%. This saves high earners significant money.
There's no separate tax slab for married couples anymore. Everyone uses the same five-slab structure.
If you contribute to the Social Security Fund, you pay 0% tax on the first NPR 10,00,000 instead of 1%. This saves NPR 10,000 annually.
